My Favorite Husband ran on CBS Radio for 124 episodes from 1948 until 1951. Starring Lucille Ball, Richard Denning, Gale Gordon, and Bea Benaderet, it is perhaps most famous for evolving into the classic television sitcom I Love Lucy. When Ball left the program to move into televison, My Favorite Husband finally moved to television with Joan Caufield and Barry Nelson taking over for Ball and Denning.
The Magnificent Montague was a short-lived radio comedy, running from November, 1950 through September, 1951. It starred Monty Woolley as a former Shakespearean actor who, having fallen on hard times, is forced to swallow his pride and take a part on a daily radio program. The cast also included Anne Seymour and Pert Kelton.
