Valentine's Day

“Will You Wait For Me?” featuring:

Make Believe Town, Hollywood: “A Very Important Appointment”

A Day In the Life Of Dennis Day: “Dennis Must Decide Between an Acting Career and His Girlfriend”

Original Air Dates: August 8, 1948; May 5, 1948

Performance Date: February 19, 2006

Make Believe Town, Hollywood ran from 1948 to 1949. It examined the lengths the people would go to in order to make it in Hollywood. It featured Lurene Tuttle, Howard Culver, Terry O'Sullivan and Mary Schipp.

Dennis Day was, perhaps, best known for his role on Jack Benny's radio program. He debuted on Benny's program in 1938 and remained associated with Benny's varios radio and television programs until 1974. He was introduced on benny's program as a naive young singer—a role he played his entire life. In 1946, while still appearing on The Jack Benny Show, he began his own radio program, A Day in the Life of Dennis Day. This ran from 1946 until 1951. The fact that Day appeared on two radio programs became a running gag on Benny's show.
